Welcome back to ComputerTV.
I'm Sam and today I'm going to tell you about this new Olympus.
This is the FE-45. Now if you're in the market
for a new digital camera, don't want to spend too much money
but you want all the basics and more
this is definitely a great digital camera for you.
Now it is a point and shoot camera,
it's perfect for beginners
and it's really really easy to use.
Alright so let's take a look around it,
right here we're going to power it on with the power button.
Alright and you'll see right here
you have your 3x optical zoom, your 4x digital zoom.
Now this is a 10 megapixel camera.
And when I turn it to the side,
I'm going to go in and out,
you'll see the zoom. It's nothing too crazy,
you're not going to get professional looking images
with this thing but it will definitely do the job.
When I turn it over you'll see you have a 2.5 inch LCD screen.
Nice images, look there I am, hi, I'm here.
Now you have ISO capabilities until 1600,
you also have 16 different shooting modes,
including movie mode. You have 19 megs of internal storage,
but you can also get one of those xD or microSD cards,
and you can have all the images you need
saved on your digital camera.
Now what's cool about this is that in playback mode
you have instant editing, so you can resize,
you can do a slide show, also has red eye reduction,
all that without plugging into a PC.
Has digital image stabilization,
so if you're somewhere rocky you don't have to worry
about getting blurry images,
the camera will do a lot of the work for you.
You also have face detection, which is great for those pictures
that you like to take when you like stretch out your arm
like so and you're like errr.
Face detection definitely comes in handy for those.
And this camera takes two AA batteries
so no rechargeable batteries here, two AAs.
Alright so, as I was going around with this 360 tour of mine
you'll see right here this is the shutter release.
This is how you take a picture.
Alright on the back you see again your 2.5 inch LCD screen.
You have your wide and your tight right here for your zoom.
You have your display button,
so if you don't want any of those fancy numbers on there,
and also you have your grid for your composition.
Ok so right here you have your mode selector
to go from manual to program, scene selection,
your playback button, and around the square you have
some dedicated buttons for your flash, your exposure,
your macro mode and your self-timer
so you can set up pretty little shots of you and the fam.
And then right here you have your trash button,
and your menu button. Then on the back you'll see
to hook up to a tripod you've got here
this little, what do you call this?
Tripod holder. And then here,
this is where your rechargeable batteries goes
as well as your xD or your microSD card.
And on the side right here this is your USB port,
your mini-USB port actually,
this is how you hook up to a PC.
You can upload all your videos to Youtube, Facebook,
just get everything off your camera
and share it on the web.
Alright so I'm sure you guys are getting antsy over there,
you really want to take a look inside this camera,
see all the things it can do, so let's get started.
Alright so right now we are in program mode,
also known as manual mode,
and when you're in program mode
and you hit menu, you'll see it takes you to your camera menu.
Now when you click OK on the camera icon
you'll see you have some options,
white balance, ISO, remember you have capabilities up to 1600
so if you're shooting in really low light
your image should still come out pretty decent.
You also have panorama, now this has panorama abilities
for 10 different images and what it does
is it takes these images, kind of pastes them together
until you have a panoramic view of wherever you are.
You have face detection, we're going to take,
we're going to set face detection on.
Face detection really comes in handy sometimes.
Ok, so we're all done here,
we're going to get out of here
and I'm going to take a picture of myself right now
so you can see the face detection.
See that green box, that's face detection.
It makes sure that all the images are in the shot
and that they're not blurry, everything's you know,
it gets exposed correctly. All right, here we go.
Ok, not bad. Now let's go and show you another mode now,
now that you've seen program/manual mode
and you do that by again hitting your mode button.
IAuto mode, now let's say you don't want to do any work,
you want the camera to do everything for you,
find out what scene is best, this is iAuto mode
and it's fantastic if you're a beginner.
Ok let's get out of here, vibration reduction.
Now this is a digital image stabilization,
I'm telling you if you are on a boat, somewhere rocky,
taking pictures of moving objects,
this is really really going to come in handy,
it's going to make sure that your shots don't come out blurry.
Alright we're going to go to another mode.
Scene mode, ok. So here you have 16 different options,
we're go through them. You have potrait, landscape,
night, night and portrait. Ooh, look at that combo.
Sport, indoor, candle, self-portrait,
got a bunch on here, documents, back up to portrait again.
Ok let's get out of here, so that's scene selection mode
and like I said it makes sure that your images
are going to come out perfect,
you know crystal clear, everything you know is going to be right
as far as the setting goes.
Alright so again here is your movie mode.
Now when you're in movie mode
you have a couple of different options
for sizing, and if you click on the menu button right here
and you scroll up to image quality,
you'll see you can choose beteen VGA and QVGA.
Now VGA has a 640 by 480 resolution
and QVGA has 320 by 240 resolution.
Now this is great if you're planning on uploading it
to the web, you don't want your movies to be too big.
And then in frame rate you have 30 fps or 15.
Alright, now let's get back out of here.
This is movie mode again and to change modes back to P
you just click your mode, your moods,
ha your mood, your mode selector right here.
Ok so now once you're in playback
you just click this blue playback button,
you can see all of your images, you can sort through them all,
look at these, ok here we go.
And if you click menu brings you back up
to your menu selections, and if you go into edit here,
this is where you can resize and you can crop your image as well.
So once you, you know, crop your image,
cut off an arm here and there,
cut off you know, some hair you can just click menu
and you're back to where you started. Ok.
And if, when you're also in playback mode,
if you hit menu and you move to your left,
excuse me, here is your slideshow.
And this is great if you're showing,
if you've just gone on a trip
and you want to show off all your pictures
but you don't want to sit there like going through each one,
slideshow really really comes in handy.
Ok I think we're all done here,
you pretty much have seen the 360 view
of this new Olympus FE-45.
Again great camera for beginners
so get yourself a pair of AAs,
a microSD card, or an xD card and you're good to go.
