In a globalized world interaction with others requires shared language for
communication
and language learning and teaching are increasingly important
To enhance teacher education for the 20th century
and promote collaboration among teachers a group of teachers
have decided to create a virtual environment in which trainee teachers
and school teachers
can share resources and discuss their experience. With this goal in mind
the "YELL" community - Young English Language Learners
started using the LearnWeb social platform
LearnWeb is a social platform that allows users to search resources on the web
annotate them and share them in groups. In this Demo we present, how Learnweb
has been adapted for the "YELL" community
In the "YELL" scenario LearnWeb is used as a search engine to explore and search resources
on the web
if we type "CLIL"(Content and language integrated learning) into the search bar, we find
several videos related to "CLIL". We can select one search result, watch the video
and copy the video into a LearnWeb group
LearnWeb is also used as a repository for teaching and learning materials
With for the menu on the left we can open
one of the group created by the "YELL" users. Each resource
included in the group has an author and a description
users can also add tags and comments to the resource
Resources in a group can be presented in a final presentation
LearnWeb automatically displays the resources contained in the group
The user can select or deselect resources to be included in the
presentation
change the order and play the result
in the presentation also comments and descriptions of the resources are visualized
We invite you to explore LearnWeb and to join the "YELL" community
thank you very much for your attention!
