We work together to try and make sure that there is a pipeline of opportunity, the
skills pipeline, that works to allow people to move from one bit of the system
to the next appropriate part of the system fairly seamlessly
and it's hard to do that if you don't have shared data at the centre, at the
hub of the centre.
Six and plus learning choices does work
because the partnership commitment, because the wide variety of
partners that can help our young people
into the destinations whether they be the most academic or
the ones who struggle you need that partnership.
Because it's about opportunity
and it's about matching the individual with good opportunity in the best way
possible. The data is the means and the vehicle just like the partnership I think
was the forum. We would measure ourselves by I think by our success and helping progress
young people towards good and successful destinations and the data is just one of
the ways in which we do that.
It gives us a day to day tracking
of where our young people are so
nobody's falling through the gaps, nobody's unknown and we are just getting the right service for
our young people.
The biggest concern is obviously where we have young people who are vulnerable
for whom opportunities is restricted or less attractive
and this should give us the opportunity to pick up early on those issues, on those challenges
challenges and to deal perhaps as a group with how best to keep that young person
secure, protected and in some effective way in the system.
Before staff
didn't know what happened to young people once they left our four walls
where now we can give them accurate feedback and a lot of that is because I've held the data
about their intentions. Opportunities came along and I know exactly who to approach so it's been
very positive where before
you were guessing about what a young
peoples intentions was. Now it's right in front of us and we can search the database
to give them what they need.
