This is Martin Shervington, and I'd like to show you how to disable comments to
prevent sharing and delete posts on Google plus.
So I've begun here with an image dropped into a post
and I'm going to ask a question of the top “Are you Commoogling?”
I put a question mark and I'm going to make it ‘bold’ by putting the asterisks there.
The I saida “Please let me know by plus one-ing one of the two boxes.”
And I've done a strike through, because I don't want to say “boxes”. I want to say “comments below”.
Now here's a really useful tip
if you create a circle that only has yourself in it
you can then send the post to yourself and just see how the formatting looks.
The only thing is then,
you can't open it up to public because it would be sent as a limited post just to
yourself.
And also if you share it, it will of come
from yourself so it won't look the same as if you just share its to a
circle
from the start.
Don't worry too much. Give it a go and you'll find that one
yourself.
Right now, what I want to do is...I'm going to send this out to a Commoogling circle.
And I'm going to click that one there. And I'm going to press share.
As you can see
we have a post that's landed on my page
and it's formatted correctly.
And then
what I'm going to do is to say
“Yes” here and put that as one comment.
And I'm going to put “Maybe”
here, and put that as another comment.
What I can then do is I can
‘disable comments’.
And when I disable comments nobody else can comment but it already allows the
comments there to stay.
So it's very useful.
What I can also do, I don't want anyone to share this post. So I'm going to ‘lock this post’
to prevent it being shared
and so then
whoever sees this post, in other words whoever has access to it depend on who I've
sent it to,
they're going to be able to plus one
one of those two boxes and I can gather, some information
on whether people are, in this case, Commoogling “yes or maybe”.
Let's say I want to open up for comments. I can just scroll down and click
enable comments and that lets other people comment there
as well.
And if I want to unlock a post,
I can just scroll through and do that as well.
That allows it to be shared with other people.
So there's a quick recap there on formatting the post, on disabling comments
on a locking them and one of the reasons why you may like to do that. Finally, I'd
like to show you had to delete the post if you don't want any more.
Press the ‘options menu’, scroll down to ‘Delete’. Says ‘delete this post’, do you want
permanently delete this post and I'd just click ‘delete’.
