With this I'm going to create a shadow line edge, a little angle to that foot that will
make it stand up off the table a little bit more make sure that edge is smooth that's
going to stay. Then I will take away this edge or I should say the middle part, I'm
working with a large tool and a small space, when you're a beginner you might want to start
with a smaller tool. But I like the way this feels and I like the way it looks, angle it
that way, now in a small space like this it's kind of hard to make that spiral that I have
been talking about. But I still want some kind of point of interest down here because
you want to think of your pot is a sculptor every part of it has to have something interesting
happening to it. So what I do here is I make this little part that kind of pops out right
in the middle and we'll get that a little clearer in a minute. Put my finger there like this little tiny *** so when you're
holding your cup and your fingers underneath it has something else to touch, something
else to feel. Remember that pottery is about feeling not just seeing and that would be
your finished cup.
