The Principles of the Treaty aren't being fulfilled in NZ schools.
This was a finding of a recent ERO report
so why is that?
The bird who eats berries, the forest is his.
The bird who consumes knowledge, the world is his.
The Treaty has been left behind.
It is not given a place in the world, and this concerns me.
The ERO report states that issues such as working in the community,
and following one's dreams are important,
but the Treaty has been ignored.
The report is correct.
These are the areas that are not being acknowledged
in the education system.
The Minister of Education is angry and blame the principals.
The leader of the Mana Party blames the minister, so she should fix it.
The Treaty should be elevated in importance.
Although is progressing,

Maori students will suffer the consequences.
Look to the Treaty to unite us all.
Sharples says that next year a new initiative will be enforced
to amend these issues.
