I'm Billy Kidd, here at Expert Village. We're going to talk about the nickel defense. You
can also do a cover one. A cover one, what you're going to do with that is your going
to take a safety and you may drop him down into coverage and you're going to take your
strong safety and move him to the middle of the field. Now what you're going to do is
you're going to have this guy playing anything that gets deep. He's especially looking at
this whole field looking for that first receiver that gets deep to help cover. Then you've
locked up man with your corners, with your specific defensive backs on your receivers
and then you've left a line backer in here to lock up on the running back so that you've
got everybody covered man. You bring you're one extra free line backer here to possible
come in for a blitz and help get extra pressure on your quarter back. That would be cover
one out of you're nickel defense.
