So what we really need to do to isolate the Hi-Hat is we need to have a main beat we're
going to play, that's going to be the same through out the series so that we can really
be listening for how the Hi-Hat's going to change the sound. So we're going to have the
simple drum beat of the bass drum on one and three, and the snare drum on two and four.
Which is basically, one. So even though you're going to be very tempted by some of the things
we're doing on the Hi-Hat, because they're going to be very syncopated, very cool, they're
going to to be all over the place, to vary the snare and bass drum. We don't want to
do that, because we really want to see how the same snare and bass pattern will sound
a lot different depending on what we're playing over here on the Hi-Hat. So, one, two, three,
four, one, two, three, four, that's going to be our snare and bass pattern and we're
going to start with some simple Hi-Hat patterns and work up to some more complicated ones,
and really keep that in mind that these are all beats that are going to sound very different
depending on what we're doing on the Hi-Hat. But the beat itself, is the same every time.
