GD: So, what is the message for Ghanaians?
Well, first and foremost we have come to share our vision of Ghana with the rest of our compatriots. And we want our compariots to know that the vision of Ghana, that is a pinnacle of achievement in Africa, is still alive.
But, to achieve it, we have a lot to do and we must make fundamental changes and get off the track where we are going now.
Because, market-led approach has not delivered and we are saying that the state must once again take responsibility, not to act by itself but, to support the private sector and institute measures and make investments...
that will make the country work, and secure the present and then the future.
Therefore we will have interventions that begin with our young people and ensure that none of them is thrown away. Everyone of them will be embraced and used by the Convention People's Party.
And we will ensure that we provide them with the appropriate training, for the skills that they need to build, through opportunity industrialisation centres and the like...
that will ensure that every child at the BECE stage should continue in their education to build their skills to have a useful and meaningful life. And this will be a lifeline the Convention People's Party will provide.
Beyond that, we give them a second chance, because whilst they're doing that they have the second chance to take the BECE exams and possibly return to the skill training as they complete the WAEC exams.
As well as to gain the skills that they were being taught in the first place. So they will end up actually having a skill for life and exams to develop themselves
The second thing that we need to share with Ghanaians is that we cannot have an economy that continues to grow from without, living on borrowed money. We must have an economy that grows from within by investments in our own manufacturing sector....
to increase productivity and ensure that jobs are created around the country. And we have outlined how we will do this, in a schematic, step-wise fashion, first starting from building a strong fertiliser industry
that will spread the growth of our agriculture to bring the biomass cycle that we need in order to be able to have excess and surplus raw material to feed our manufacturing sector.
And then we can justify that in making those investments will have the jobs that are created to spur on the growth of the country in a holistic way, where we will have growth with development and not growth without development.
It is then when you go back to economic statistics, they will be directly related to our standard of living. Thank you very much.
GD: Dr., one more thing. You mentioned that we avoid an election that could destabilise the country, we just want you to give a message of peace to Ghanaians.
We have indicated very clearly that the Convention People's Party will do nothing that would destabilise or endanger the security of this nation. We were the party that were the midwives at the birth of this nation and we will be the ones ones once again
ensure that good judgement is brought to bear if the people put us in the commanding position to determine the outcome of this election. And we hope they will do that by voting the Convention People's Party to ensure peace in this election. Thank you.
