Hi, I'm Mark Levy, owner of Aqua Boy Pools, out here in beautiful Las Vegas.
We've created a series of videos that includes tips on pool service, maintenance, and repair
in Las Vegas - to help keep your pool and spa in perfect working order, and to help
you identify the cause of common problems that may arise.
Title: Las Vegas Weekly Pool Maintenance - Cleaning!
In this video, we're going to be focusing on the weekly maintenance of your Las Vegas
pool and spa ... the cleaning aspects of it.
You can check out our earlier video on weekly chemical testing, but on this video, we're
talkin' "cleaning your Las Vegas Pool."
First, brushing is the first thing we're going to do. We're going to brush your tile - all
the way around the pool. What this does is get all the stuff that's sticking to your
tile into the center of the pool, and all the debris free from your tile.
After that is done, we're going to net the pool - get all the debris that is floating
on top your pool, and remove it from the surface - get it out of the way.
You should get yourself a good, deep net - make it easy on yourself. If you get a cheap net,
you're going to be screaming.
Sometimes, good pool equipment is not cheap, but it's worth it, because it often works
ALOT better than the cheap stuff does.
Next, we're going to vacuum your pool. We're going to get all the debris out of the bottom
of your pool. Make sure to cover every inch, and leave it nice and clean.
It has to be done VERY slowly. Because, if you do it too quickly, you end up pushing
the dirt around that you're trying to vacuum up. Then, it tends to suspend in the water
- and becomes impossible to vacuum up.
You should "prime" your hose before you vacuum. You just don't stick one end of the hose on
the vacuum and one end in the skimmer. You need to fill the hose with water first, or
else you will suck all that air into your filter system - which is not a good thing.
You never want air in your system, only water.
Once that is done, we're going to empty all the baskets - your pump basket, your skimmer
baskets, any leaf-trap baskets you might have ... All pools are different, and plumbed differently,
and have different types of baskets. We need to check and clear them all.
Finally, and equally important, which many people neglect ... Even if they do everything
else perfectly, and they're all done with cleaning their pool, and they THINK they're
done ... many people don't brush their walls.
The most important thing you can do to maintain your Las Vegas pool or spa is brush the walls.
You can vacuum, net ... do everything you can do, but you can not get everything off
the walls until you brush them.
BRUSH YOUR POOL ...
Thanks for watching. I hope you enjoyed the video.
