My name is Lydia Siyufy
I am 23 years old
I am
from Ocala florida
but
I live in Jacksonville Beach
um
what are the hardest things that women
in my area deal with
well i feel like
(ABOUT TO SNEEZE)
Sorry I was gunna sneeze
uh
a lot of women, I feel like in my area
are lost
uh... they don't have a sense of
direction or purpose
and because of that, because they dont find
uh...
you know
because they don't find happiness in themselves or their purpose in themselves the sun themselves
they look for it in other place s
and
which was a huge mistake I made in life, I struggled with
you know
you can look for
happiness or attention in all the wrong places
and even if you get it and go home
it will be gone tomorrow morning when you wake up
and
for me my hardest obstacle
uh... I've had many (laugh/sigh) theres been a lot of them
but for the first one, it would be
uh
you know loving my self
and
a lot of that had to do with being born with a deformity
you know
its called Lymphatic Malformation, its very rare
so uh... not many people know what it is
so a big part of loving my self or
dealing with this
socially
was uh...
being bold, being strong, getting people to
wanna get to know me
and
and let them know hey I'm a real person, I'm not mentally retarded
I'm capable of
ya know, everything your capable of so (laugh)
getting people to really see that and real stop and pay attention to me (who I truly was)
was a big obstacle in my life, but I don't think that is, ya know ...
i don't think my story is
only for me or for people with deformities, I feel like a lot of women face this..
I feel like a lot of women
will spend a lot of time looking for their worth or loving themselves
so
it did provide me with a purpose
my purpose is to be an example
for other women
and for other people for that matter
showing my self
and not being afraid to show my self
which was not easy for me
uh...
but now that I am able
to walk into a room and just be myself
for so many people
thats just like "whoa," ya know, they don't expect it and
uh...
I get the joy of inspiring people to be better than themselves (then what their mind allows them to be)
even though what ever they have to deal with is in their lives
so my uh...
my advice to you
is to find that thing
in your life
find your deformity, find your...
find the mistakes that you have made, face them, and use them to inspire other people
we don't understand
.. ya know, society tells us to build this perfect little image
uh... that you don't
everything you go through in life
I strongly believe
um... its for a purpose, and its for you to impact the world.
so find your deformity and use it.
