Hi, how are you?
It's clear that spaceship games will get a new rebirth
thanks to virtual reality
Games like the new X game, EVE Valkyrie,
and of course, Star Citizen. Please Chris Roberts,
give us an Hangar version compatible with Oculus Rift
Meanwhile, we have to settle with demos like the one
I'm showing today, where we can use our head
inside the cockpit to track enemy spaceships, and enjoy
making a flyby near a space station
to get an idea of
the experiences we're going to live in hopefully very few time
Well, this would be some kind
of spaceship combat simulator
We're on the spaceship and we can look around inside the cockpit
in all directions
Open space surrounds us everywhere
and now we're approaching this space station
A mother ship is attacking it, with fighters
And once again
it's incredible
to fly so close
and feel the size
We can stop almost entirely
I'm dying to get this implemented in a full game
like Star Citizen, because this, for just a simple demo,
honestly,
makes my jaw fall to the floor
Look at the space fighters
This is something that we, simulation lovers,
have been waiting for a long time:
using our head to track the enemy
He's turning, I got him
Fire!
This is a tough one!
And we pass through the space debris
Look how I use my head to track
any object
Had this been applied long time ago
to X-Wing or Tie Fighter, would have been incredible
I cross my fingers for a future Star Wars game
compatible with the Oculus Rift
It's easy to track the enemy, lock the target, never lose it
This is a good pilot!
Look, I never lose sight of him... get him get him get him
and he's down!
This is the typical mother ship
with its missile battery, or lasers
and it has do defend itself, of course
Following the target is easy
The goal is to destroy all its turrets
To render it vulnerable
But the demo doesn't have an end
I could be here all my life
I tried to destroy the mother ship before but I can't
it just stays defenceless
and all I can do is to destroy fighters
Another one here
And down!
It's really awesome
Simulation is probably the genre that will benefit the most
from virtual reality
Because on a shooter,
to make it real
we should be able to walk and jump, treadmills will be helpful
but any simulator where we sit inside a cockpit
it's going to be awesome
when arrive more games and the commercial version of the Oculus Rift
This, that right now is just a simple demo
is simply awesome
Greetings to Spain, I'm seeing it in front of me!
Well, and that was
Star Raiders!
See you soon!
