Interpreter VO: Hello! My name is Gary Malkowski.
I am the Vice President
of Stakeholder and Employer Relations at CHS.
I want to tell you how moved I was
after watching the theatre production,
“Ultrasound.”
The play is coproduced by Cahoots Theatre
and Theatre Passe Muraille.
The story revolves around a Deaf and hard of hearing couple
who are grappling with the idea
of whether or not to start a family.
We watch as the couple struggle,
working through their concerns
on whether or not they should have a baby.
But one thing I must highlight is the actual experience
you will have while watching the production.
The play is fully accessible.
It is performed in American Sign Language,
and subtitles are projected on the back of the stage.
Your seats will vibrate with the loud sound,
all giving the audience members a full 3D experience!
This theatre is providing a fully inclusive environment
as it provides the audience
with a sense of culture and language
which can be accessed by the entire community.
It really highlights issues
looking through a Deaf, hard of hearing,
and hearing cultural perspective.
This stellar production
is rich in its showcasing of culture and accessibility,
and is sure to be enjoyed by all.
“Ultrasound” is a must see production!
It is awesome… it really is incredible.
