Golden Globe nominations, America's Got Talent nabs a new judge, and Regis Philbin gets a
handful of A-list replacements. I'm Alex and I've got the scoop in today's Reel TV News.
The nominations for the 69th Annual Golden Globes have been announced, and leading the
pack in the TV categories are Downton Abbey and Mildred Pierce with 4 nominations apiece,
followed by Boardwalk Empire, Modern Family, The Hour, Homeland, and American Horror Story
with 3 nominations each. Do you think one of the freshman series can swoop in for a
couple first-year wins? Howard Stern announced on his satellite radio
show this morning that he would officially be replacing Piers Morgan as judge for NBC's
America's Got Talent, joining Sharon Osbourne and Howie Mandel at the judges table. As a
result, the summer show will relocate from LA to New York to accommodate Stern's radio
schedule. Do you think he's a good fit for a family show?
While a permanent replacement for Regis Philbin has yet to be named, Live! With Kelly must
live on, and the series has announced its first set of fill-in co-hosts who will help
Kelly Ripa kick off the new year. According to TV Guide, Kelly's husband Mark Consuelos
will join her on Monday January 2nd. On Tuesday, The Big *** Theory's Jim Parsons will join
her, followed by David Duchovny and Rob Lowe for the rest of the week. Do you think any
of these co-hosts have the right Regis swag? Sound off in the comments and check back with
us tomorrow for more TV scoop from SideReel.
