Hello I'm Joe Elvin and here's what's been happening this week in search.

Search engines remain the most trustworthy option when looking for news articles, according
to the 2013 Edelman Trust Barometer. The research suggests that search engines
are seen as being as trustworthy as traditional media and far more reliable than social media.
[pause]
Google sends out hundreds of thousands of warnings to webmasters every month and 90
per cent of them are black hat related. Matt Cutts, who is head of webspam at the
search engine, said that just three per cent of warnings were about hacking.
Cutts also shared his opinion that guest blogs will be PENALISED by Google in 2013.

Don't set up a company Facebook account until you know what you're going to do with
it! That's the advice from Forbes contributor
Ty Kiisel, who suggested that many companies are jumping into the deep end with social
media marketing without any idea of their end destination.

Web developers can now share hosted websites on Google Drive.
All they have to do is their HTML, Javascript and CSS files and then share a link to the
starting HTML file. This option was introduced on Tuesday.

Google is being investigated by European privacy regulators.
The group of 27 regulators warned Google about its controversial privacy alterations back
in October and today announced they aren't happy with the changes made by the search
engine.

And finally, Google has substantially boosted its share of the U.S search market.
According to the latest figures from Comscore, the search giant registered a 67 per cent
market share in January, whilst Bing recorded a 16.5 per cent share, which is an all-time
high for them.
