The four victims who drowned in the Foveaux Strait last week
were put to rest today.
They were all passengers aboard the Easy Rider
on a mutton-birding expedition.
Four passengers are still missing but Te Karere were fortunate that
the grieving family agreed to speak with our reporter Potaka Maipi.
These are three of the four bodies taken at sea.
The farewell of Peter Bloxham, Shane Toopi and John Karetai
took place at their marae.
Their family grieve for them.
More than 2000 people from around the region
have come to pay their respects.
It was a chance for the small community to come together
and mourn for a group of people bound together in mutton-birding.
It's said to be one of NZ's worst sea disasters.
Four people are still missing.
