My name is Mark Scott, I'm a senior and a captain of the Golf Team.
I interned this summer at Westfield Insurance, in Westfield Center, Ohio.
Going into it, I didn't know too much about insurance, but after this summer
I know a lot more about it and it really interests me, being a finance major.
I'd say Career Services gave me a great overall summary for getting
into the internship. It made me feel prepared going in the interview
and the application process, and I knew that my resume looked sharp and listed everything I wanted it to.
When I'm on the golf course, I just try to stay relaxed
because everybody is going to get bad breaks and good shots.
I try to keep a pretty even temperament, just do the best I can and most importantly have fun
In the insurance industry, like I would like to go into, there's a lot of
business thats done on the golf course.
So, I definitely think that's an advantage that I will have if I do pursue the insurance industry.
Most undergraduate students to utilize the Career Services Center more
because it's a great, great asset that there is on campus that
not too many people take advantage of, I feel.
I feel like you just don't want to be that kid, ten years after you graduate to think,
"Oh, well I wish I would have gone to Career Services."
So, I think now would be a great time to do it, to get a resume sharpened,
get some interview skills & just see what they have to offer.
