It's taken me 6 months to find a job which I did not anticipate at all.
I used anybody I could come into contafct with about contacts. So, contacts for work
experience to pad out your CV, contacts for an actual job, contacts for volunteer work
- contacts for everything and anything. I know you want a paid job but experience
is what every employer is looking for so even if you have to take the hit and go for an
unpaid job for a month, it's worth it if it's going to get you something paid - and you
never know, that might turn into a paid job too.
I've had a look at going back to university and redoing a masters because 6 months is
a long time to be sitting about wondering why you're not getting anywhere so you do
have to look at all your options. I've spoken to a lot of graduates who've been
in my position who say that they get to a feeling where something's just around the
corner and they're right, they're normally right.
