Hi guys! It's me again. We are already on to Section 1 of Unit 5! You guys are already
more than half way done with the class! So, let's hear all about it, right? So this section,
Suzy and Marco need to go and buy a converter. This is because in China, and in most foreign
countries, the voltages are different, so if you plug in your electronic that you got
in the US in China, it will fry it because the voltages are so different. So you just
need to buy a converter. And you can get these in the US or in China, and they have these
really large buildings that are solely for electronics. So one floor will have computers
and one floor will have cell phones and one floor will have cameras and one floor will
have just general maintenance. So you can just got to one of these and wander around
until you find what you're looking for. So yeah. On the language side of things what
you're going to learn in this section is how to say 'go' qù, because Suzy and Marco are
going to the hardware store. So qù the hardware store. And you'll also be learning how to
say that you did something successfully. So you know how your mom will say when she's
talking to you, you're hearing me but you're not listening to me, or when you'll look for
something and then you've found something. So it's kind of like that, and Chinese has
the same kind of thing. It uses the word dào, which means to arrive, which you guys already
know, but then when it's paired with a verb like to buy something or to hear something,
then it means to have done something successfully, to have successfully completed the action.
So you guys will be learning all about that, it's really not hard, it just takes some explaining.
So why don't we go learn about it!
