Hi, my name is Craig Kielburger. I'm the co-founder of
Free The Children and we organize a gathering called WE DAY,
Canada's national celebration of youth and service.
This year, over a hundred thousand students from across the country,
four thousand schools and delegates will come together in celebrations
in cities, well from Halifax to Vancouver and everywhere
in between. They have earned their way to be there, through supporting local and global causes.
We find we are such a great fit with Ryerson University
because We Day is all about finding a cause you care about and then making a difference.
Just like Ryerson University is about lighting a spark, finding things that
you care about and following that into career
into service and learning all the skills and knowledge to make an
impact at home and around the world. Whether it be Ryerson University's
things like Enactus service clubs that exist in campus,
Enactus helping small business creation in Kenya or
locally Ryerson University's impact right in their own backyard in Toronto
sustainable development, sustainable housing, environmental protection, urban design
So many other great skills that students leave with
to have a positive impact on their local and global community.
We Day wants to empower and inspire you to make a difference,
Ryerson University gives you the skills and tools to fulfill that passion.
That's why we are such a great fit. So we want to encourage you,
Ryerson staff and students, to get involved with the We Day celebration in Toronto this year
September 20th, 2013. It's going to be an incredible celebration
of youth, of service, of finding the skills and passion
to better the world. We're honoured to team up with you, can't wait to see you then!
