One of the first things that you're going to want to do before you decide to take a
nice hike with your kids is figure out what the temperature is going to be and make sure
that it's something that is going to be very comfortable for your kids. Obviously you're
going to have some sort of gage based on the weather as it is, but if you're planning something
ahead of time, go ahead and listen to the forecast. You can do this listening to the
news or you can go online. There are lots of different websites where you can check
the weather, and make sure that it's going to be a comfortable temperature. I don't ever
recommend hiking with children when it's an extreme temperature one way or the other.
If it's very very cold or very very hot. Kids are very susceptible, much more so than adults
to hypothermia and heat stroke, and they really aren't going to have any fun if this weather
is just uncomfortable the entire time, and you're not going to have any fun if your kids
are just sort of trailing behind complaining the whole time, and it's also not safe. So,
go ahead and do your homework and listen to, we have some bugs, listen to the weather report
and just see if it's comfortable temperature and then plan ahead for any sort of weather
change. Go ahead and pack lots of extra clothes. You're better off over packing and having
things that you're not going to need rather than being stuck out somewhere and having
to end your trip because it's either too hot or too cold for how you were dressed, or if
you run into any sort of accidents, any sort of wet clothes or anything like that you're
going to want to change.
