today we're gonna try to move this A-7K from Sioux City
here down Camp Dodge via sling load or
external load
the A-7K it's one of the airplanes that flew out here
about twenty years ago and is a
great great to fly the airplane
[radio chatter] that's just a beautiful
and the paint job they did on this airplane in here brings back a
the nostalga of the unit the aircraft history
and everything the paint job is a chance to preserve
original paint job on this particular aircraft that was on it in the
80s
and the names that are depicted on the aircraft on the right side is the
crew chief Bruce Johnson and the pilot that's listed on the
the left side of the cockpit captain Andy Erickson and that this is a chance
to put their names up there
and in remembrance of them great to have them on the on the aircraft an honor
that way
into perpetuity actually because they're gonna be on that airplane for the whole
time it's down at the gold star
the plane looks very nice the paint is very nice job
you know hopefully can get there in one piece [laughter]
shouldn't be a problem and the pilots go ahead and
lift aircraft lift the load underneath it
to get wherever it needs to go
