What is nowitiate? (Part 2)
At the beginning my head was full of dreams, ideals,
I was built-up with my plans on the future, on what I'll do here and there,
on how each and every week, month will look like, or at least what I will work on
and then came the moment when all of that collapsed.
And here God showed me that it is good to loose my hands.
'Open your hands because I want to give you much more'.
I thought I came here with my own treasure, and it stayed with me, but I have been enriched here far more.
I received a lot, from the Order, from brothers, from God above, from Jesus.
Looking at this time I feel how God fought for me, together with St Dominic.
Twice this year I decided to get away the next day, and miracles happened.
After a moment I go to the chapel and I tell Him that I can't see any chance for me anymore, and I say: " 'Lord, if You want to do it, just do it'...
and miracles happened. And I am here and I want to make my profession.
I have a deep conviction of being chosen by St Dominic,
that he takes me as a son, and that he is my father and brother at the same time.
When we went to Bologna, the prayer at his tomb was very powerful experience to me. As if he told me 'I take you today as my son.'
This year also my dad died and at his funeral I felt exactly the same, Dominic telling me that from now on he is becoming my father.
When I hear 'novitiate' I think of freedom that I found after this year,
and also big amount of joy that comes from being with my brothers, sometimes that time is hard and challenging.
To me novitiate is the time when I received many answers to the questions about me, who am I, who should I be, how God sees me,
and the greatest fruit of this time is that I have peace and assurance that God wants me to be here and to be happy.
This year it was not me to decide on what happens, but God led me gently and brought me to my first profession.
Due to some technical problems we quote br. Tobiasz:
Novitiate to me was the time of discovering God's mysterious acts in my life.
It tought me mostly the humility and patience towards this mystery.
I end my novitiate knowing that
God is good indeed.
