Well, welcome guys. My name is Lars-Erik Robinson and maybe you guys really enjoy nature. And
I thought today we'll talk about how to draw a bear. And this is an interesting shape here.
We could actually, you could actually just watch me how I just do this shapes on a bear.
Very bulky shapes. They're very big bears. There's probably thinner ones but this particular
reference that I have here is very good. So you can see the shapes here. It's dark here
and dark here on that side. And this is the general thing that you do when you start looking
at a bear. You want to look at the shapes. You want to look at the value of things and
where the shadow is lying. You take your pencil, and I like these pencil leads. These are very
good. It helps you block in a lot of things real easy. It helps you get ideas of how shapes
are formed. Alright? Well, then you can just take your marker and we can go. And once again,
just to give you an overview of how you get the block of shapes in. You basically look
at the outside of the shapes and you try to get that. And just generally sketch it in. And that's
a lot of live sketches that you do when you go out in nature or you're drawing people
at the subway. Here we go. Let's get the end of his body here. It looks like he has a fish.
Oh, a fish!!! Take that, block it in again here. Bears like fish!! HaHa! There's an example
of a bear. So as you can see we just shaped everything in and we got it in here. That
gives you and idea of how to draw a bear. And basically looking at shapes of things.
And that's what we want to be able to know. How to draw a bear. They very bulking and
strong animals but I believe they're very kind because look, he's very happy. He has
a fish there. Thank you guys for joining me. Hope that explains a little bit better how
to do a bear.
