Well a Provo-based security alarm company just sold for a whopping $2 billion. The company
Vivint, formerly known as APX Alarm, installs security and home automation equipment and
has been expanding to solar recently. The Blackstone Group bought the company. The price
tag likely makes it the biggest business deal in Utah history. Headquarters expected to
stay in Provo and owners say this could increase growth. They are expecting another 1,000 jobs
in the company. Vivint grosses about $30 million per month in recurring revenue by selling
alarms and those contracts that go with the alarm systems.
