When I give a gift, I'm not giving to USF St. Pete. I'm not just giving to the USF system.
I'm giving to my family. USF is so much more than a thing or a place to meet. It's really
something that I hold personally in high regard.
USF is a community. It's a large community. And so no one person has to carry the load.
It really is about the future growth and development and being part of a bigger community effort.
I give to the College of Education, the Student Affairs program, because that program helped
me to get through college, helped me to experience life in a different way that I don't think
I necessarily would have. So your gift is not just materialistic. It's really life experiences.
I had the pleasure of being an area rep for our college. I got to get out and meet people
and help other people give back. And a lot of people could realize that it wasn't just
their contribution making a difference. It was a lot of people coming together to give
to the university. And it makes me feel part of something bigger.
I support the Faculty & Staff Campaign through my Alumni Association membership. It was sort
of a dream of mine to end up coming back to USF. And being back here at the College of
the Arts at USF has been very fulfilling.
I can see all of the students in the School of Music doing exactly what I was doing and
having a great time and support the students who are going to make a difference out in
the world and really show that I have a passion for it and I can do it right here at USF.
I can appreciate that USF has been a very positive force in my life. So I think it's
a natural thing to want to give back by helping other young women to develop themselves, to
complete their educations, so that they can contribute to the university in the ways that
I hope that I have over the years.
Fortunately, I have been involved with the Faculty/Staff campaign since 1989. And our
Campus Recreation department provides a Faculty/Staff Scholarship to employees of Campus Recreation.
So it was small, but it was something that allowed us to be able to purchase our books
and so forth that we needed.
No matter what department we work in or what role we may have, contributing to the campaign
says, we're here, we're together, and we're supporting what USF is doing today and in
the future.
