Good Morning. Today is Monday, March 17th, 2014,
Happy Saint Patrick's Day. And today's topic is "Good Fortunes."
So in three weeks time, we're moving out to Oregon, to be closer to Carol's wonderful daughter Christine.
and that's going to be a wonderful adventure.
We're traveling in this 1987 RV I've been fixing up,
and it now has a working radio,
and even a rear view camera.
It doesn't worry me that I wasn't able to find a four leaf clover on Saint Patrick's Day,
after all, there will be plenty of clovers to be found in Oregon.
But meanwhile, we had our friends invite us to a farewell dinner yesterday, and it was a wonderful experience.
It'll be strange, ya know, I'm gonna miss out on thousands of friends that are very dear to us and such,
But there are a lot of new adventures, and newer friends to make, it should be rewarding.
The fortune cookie that I think set Carol in motion on this was that:
"If you want to get something you've never had, you've got to do something you've never done."
There's little that beats good food and good company.
- I'm glad you made it. Happy Trails. - You too.
So I've tried to figure out, "what is the motive for leaving the place where I grew up, leaving thousands of friends?"
It's going to be an adventure. It'll be nice to move away from the train tracks, and I-75 and Galbraith Road.
The fortune cookie that I suspect started this in motion reads:
"If you want to get something you've never had, you've got to do something you've never done."
It's been quite a learning experience getting ready to move to Oregon...
Trying new things. Staring off on the *wrong foot* *every time...*
[laughter] It has taught me all kinds of lessons,
you learn by trying.
So the real good fortune is in all the fun memories,
and all the wonderful friendships we have built out of this.
I'll be looking forward to keepuing track and keeping in touch
as we make our journey across the country to Oregon.
I'll see you within three weeks. This is Joel 'TwistyNye,' wishing you "Happy Trails."
