News has just come in that Russian team Katusha have been reinstated to the WorldTour, after
the Court of Arbitration for Sport overruled a UCI ruling made last December.
In a statement, they said: "In it's deliberations following the hearing,
the CAS panel did not reach the same conclusions as the UCI Licensing Commission and decided
to uphold the appeal" The ruling means that Katusha will once again
be racing all of the WorldTour events in 2013, including the Tour de France and Giro d'Italia.
It also means the team will likely retain their star rider, Joaquim Rodriguez.
However what is unclear, is whether they're going to push out one of the other 18 teams
who already hold a WorldTour license. This will have a big bearing on races like the
Giro d'Italia, who have already announced the 21 teams competing in this years race,
which didn't originally include team Katusha.
