Abbas Kyazimov exhibition
-
The Moscow Tsereteli Museum presents the anniversary exhibition of well-known Azerbaijani artist Abbas Kyazimov, the inventor of carpet painting.
-
Zurab Tsereteli, President of Russian Academy of Fine Arts
-
When I saw Kyazimov's works for the first time I realized that he is an artist our students, our young generation should know.
-
His works of art, each distinct by its own particular characteristics are precious and I believe they should be demonstrated.
-
That's why I decided to organize this exhibition.
-
Are you content with the results?
-
Yes! I see how much all these people like it, I see the kindness these paintings bring up in their eyes.
-
The expo 'Bright world of Abbas Kyazimov' offers a viewer more than 100 works, each of them - a single step on the artist's way.
-
Abbas Kyazimov, the artist
-
I think my career as an artist is fully represented here: carpet paintings, 'black and red' style, graphic works, mixed techniquesů all my major achievements are here.
-
As for the 'black and red' style paintings, they are very tense, emotional,
-
they reflect my emotional condition during the tragic events that led to the collapse of the country I grew up in, the USSR.
-
A lot of my friends emigrated, a lot of tragic things happened - and all this I tried to express by this style.
-
All these images represent war, but usually I prefer to paintů life.
-
A number of high figures came to congratulate their friend with the opening of the exhibition.
-
Polad Bulbul-ogli, Azerbaijani Ambassador to Russia
-
I met Abbas in 80s on a movie set. I was a composer and an actor there, and Abbas was a karate consultant and participated in karate scenes.
-
Later we became closer, I found out about his artistic works.
-
As Azerbaijani Ambassador, I live in Moscow so I decided to help organize Abbas' exhibition here.
-
I'm very greatful to Zurab Tsereteli who offered us a place to host the expo, here, in the Academy of Arts.
-
I think this exhibition is very bright and interesting.
-
I hope you'll show your viewers some of the pictures so that they could see for themselves.
-
I think this exhibition might become a considerable contribution to the artist's success, as a personal exhibition is a great step forward for an artist.
-
And this one is held in Moscow, in a prestigious place.
-
A lot of Academy members are present here, a lot of journalists - all this demonstrates the high level of interest towards Abbas Kyazimov's works in Russia.
-
They say that artists are somewhat strange people - grown-ups who spend their time painting some imagesů
-
but all these works are capable of inspiring people.
-
I would like to thank all my friends who made this event possible.
-
I would also like to express my gratitude towards Azerbaijani FM, and especially to my dear friend Polad Bulbul-ogli
-
and Zurab Tsereteli who literally saved the Academy for us.
