This glitch is used when you level up and can select a perk.
Some perks require a certain level of skill.
As in my example, “Friend of the Night” requires 30 sneak.
Let’s say you wanted that perk, but your character
Is not a stealthy build, you don’t want to waste any more
Points on sneak than you have to.
Using this method will allow you to save some valuable skill points
By tricking the system into thinking you have the required amount.
Begin by boosting your skill points so you meet the requirements
For the perk. Then select the one you want.
Now instead of continuing on, back out of the perk selection
Screen by pressing the “B” button,
re-allocate your skill points to
Wherever you want them to go and continue back to the perk selection screen.
You’ll notice that even though you do not meet the requirements for
The perk and it’s darkened like the other unavailable ones,
it still has a selected square next the name.
Press the “X” button anyways to continue on and you’ll see you still have the perk.
This method is a great way to save a few extra skill points to use in more valuable areas.
The most notable perks to use this on are Jury Rigging, and pack rat.
As not many people will want to place so many points into repair or barter.
It can save you anywhere from 11 – 17 skill points
depending on how many points you earn per level.
