ECE 110: Introduction to Computer and Electrical Engineering
At Illinois, electrical and computer engineering students
have numerous opportunities for hands-on learning.
The first such opportunity comes in ECE 110,
a required class for all ECE freshmen.
This introductory course
begins by teaching the basics of
solving and building simple circuits.
Students then apply these basics in the lab
where they each build an autonomous moving vehicle
while learning how to use engineering instruments
in a team atmosphere.
By the end of the semester,
By the end of the semester,
each team’s vehicle will be able to follow a track
without any external control beyond the circuitry.
