We receive entries for 'High Mileage' every day...
...and one week we had three on a BMW 530D, the E39, the one you have.
But yours really stood out. How many kilometres does your car have?
733.749.
The others did'nt stand a chance. - I can imagine.
Please tell us: did you buy this car new? No, I bought it when is was a year old.
It was nearly new. I wanted a solid, reliable car...
In which I can do effortless kilometres. Trustworthy.
I use is for my work and feel comitted...
To have a high end car that doesn't let me down.
How did you come across this BMW? - I was in Maastricht...
...by accident for work.
I saw a BMW of there a green one with beige upholstry...
It was beautiful.
That was the car I wanted. And is was this one.
That's how it's happened.
- So you've bought it in the spur of the moment?
I came across it, and knew it would be mine.
In just a moment we'll arrive at Henny from the TÜV...
Do you have any idea about the flawes he will find?
In general there are never any problems with the car.
It's constructed in a way...
that as soon as anything goes wrong a warning light goes on...
...or a bell starts to ring.
It gives you a sign.
But never anything happens. And it feels solid.
So my guess is that he won't find very much.
Let me warn you: Henny always finds something. - That's what he's for...
Wim, how far do you think this car can take you?
Not much further, because I already bought it's successor...
It's waiting for me...
Again it has to do with the business...
Little things can start happening right now...
and these can...
for example: if the whiper motor gives up...
What if I'm stranded somewhere far away in the rain?
Then everything stands still. I don't want to take that risk...
I'm commited to have a good quality car...
So there won't be any stagnation. And I can reach all my appointments on time.
When it had 500.000 on the odo there was nothing the matter... - No problems at all.
But now it has 750.000, things are starting to get straitened?
If it was a private car, it would be no problem. Time would be on my side...
But for now, I can't take the risk.
Right...
It's successor is ofcourse a BMW again. - What kind?
A 535D.
Main beams! Yes.
There's a hole here. Probably because of a stone...
Now they've kitted on a plastic cap. I don't know where is from...
This spring is turned up a bit. Can you see that?
The seatbelt...
Blocks in the right way. Seat is good.
Battery okay.
Henny: Wim has already traded in this car...
Will it have a happy new owner..?
I do hope so for the car. Because it's a wonderful thing. - You can say that...
Except over here on the bonnet it has a some stone chips.
...some stone chips - But in any other way, you can't tell it has such a high mileage.
What did you find?
What I've found is only some wear and tear because it is getting used so much.
The brake discs at the front are worn...
Brake pads are almost done...
At the bottom of the car we've found some oil traces.
It's under the brake pump.
It should be diagnosed where it excactly comes from.
I can't see the problem right now. - That's going to be difficult then.
Yes it will.
Wim, there were remarkably little flawes to find.
Do you regret selling it?
It's like I said.
Really.
If it was just a private car I would drive it up to a million kilometres.
But it has to go looking for a new owner. Did they already found someone?
My BMW specialist where I sold it...
Wants to keep track on it...
He says the car is too beautiful and too good...
To have the risk that is brought abroad and have the odo rolled back halfway.
It doensn't deserve that.
He is going to find a fan who wants to drive it up to a million.
It's waiting for that now.
Maybe we'll see it back in 'High Mileage' when it has reached a million.
When it has a million I'll tell them to appraoch you.
Just give me a call. It's a deal.
