Biometric customer identification technology
is one of the most innovative and modern technologies
available in the banking market.
Apart from the technological aspects connected with introducing the solution
and connecting Bank BPH IT systems
the most important challenge was to gain customer acceptance
to use this technology.
Today, we can say that our customers happily use
this technology and appreciate the simplified process
of confirming identity as well as the convenience provided by this solution.
We had many challenges.
Amongst others, we experienced a lack of network infrastructure,
a diversity in IT systems,
and extremely restrictive security requirements.
However, one of the biggest challenges
involved the creation of an innovative FINGER VEIN biometric reader
based on ETHERNET technology,
meeting the highest standards of banking security
that is both user-friendly
and extremely simple to install, just like a mouse.
I think we have managed to fully meet the objective.
The project at Bank BPH was the second project with the use of FINGER VEIN technology,
which we have now implemented with HITACHI.
However, this project was extremely important
and at the same time it was a huge challenge because,
prior to the BPH project, we had only introduced biometrics at cash machines and in small banks
in the cooperative sector.
