Hi, folks. Now it’s time for Cooking with Jammer. This winter, take advantage of the
abundance of fresh Florida strawberries by adding them to appetizers, soups, salad, entrees
and desserts.
Fresh Florida strawberries are virtually fat-free and they’re loaded with vitamin C and folic
acid. They’re available now through April so let’s get going.
Today, we’re going to make a treat that’s fun to eat, fun to make and it’s good for
you. The Florida strawberry and banana smoothie.
First, you will need one pound of fresh Florida winter strawberries, one ripe banana cut into
pieces, one cup of ice cubes preferably crushed, a half a cup of non-fat plain or vanilla yogurt,
one cup pomegranate juice or orange juice and two tablespoons of sugar.
Now, place all those ingredients into a blender. Blend on high speed for about a minute or
until it looks all smooth and yummy. You can even add a tablespoon of protein powder if
you would like and that’s it. This will make about four cups of smoothies. So get
your Florida fresh strawberries and look for this and other recipes on our website, www.FLAStrawberry.com
