Ken: My name is Ken Miller and I have a family of four.
At the height of the market in 2006 I was sitting on top of the corporate world,
running from meeting to meeting, and then suddenly overnight with the downturn I
found myself unemployed. It was during this very tumultuous period
in my life that Federation was there to help myself and my family, give us some
perspective, and just help us connect with others who might be in similar situations.
It's important to remain connected to family, friends, and peers, to continue giving.
You never stop giving even when you're receiving.
These connections are what the true value of life is.
Through various Federation programs this was a venue where one could meet others in
their same position and just the opportunity to connect and share with
other individuals, other Jews who were in similar hardship positions, just that in
and of itself is very valuable.
Honestly I could admit that I'm spending more time at shul.
There's a time for everything in one's life so this is my time to go a little deeper.
