This is a Doorman window regulator for the passenger side window of a Lincoln LS 2000
Lincoln LS. Doorman window regulator part number 741877. Contains an instruction sheet,
window regulator instructions. It contains the doorman parts its self. Which is a very
flexible frame containing clips. Very simple structure. Your window fits into these clips
right here. On my particular unit these clips fractured off allowing this to drop. Remove
the original window glass if it's not attached to the clips. Mine is not, so I am able to
use a couple suction cups (Which subsequently been holding my window in place since this
broke). Apply to the window, and let the front end drop and lift the window straight out.
And there's your window. See right here where the retaining clips reside. Sit this down
so its fairly safe. In the door handle is a little shim that has to be lifted out. There's
two screws down in here. Those two screws need to come out. Got to remove this piece
of the door handle gingerly. And behind it you will find another screw. Got a magnetic
metal tray to keep all my magnetic parts in. Screws underneath the door you have to make
sure you get. Three of them. If you don't get those it will be difficult for you to
figure out why the doors not coming off. There's a screw here on the side of the door. The
door its self is held in by little clips, Which will break if your not careful in how
you take them apart. I'd get a flat tool like this, they make a special tool for it but
I am not using a special tool I am using a small pry bar. Once you get that worked out,
is you'll want to pull your handle out. There we go. Now, when you're in here you will have
to be cautious about, your electrical. There's a lot of electrical connections in here. So,
make sure that you take these out. Push it in, snap this back in place. We have broken
one of those clips. You will have this paper on the inside, it's a kind of plastic paper,
that you will want to gently peel off. Because you will want to be able to put that back.
Okay you'll want to lay this somewhere where it's not going to get messed up. Put it on
the hood of the car or whatnot face up. We have some bolts here that have to come off
to allow this frame assembly to come out. You'll see right here in this particular instance
our doorman is actually bolted on from the inside. So we are going to have to work with
that. I am using a number 11, 11mm. Pay particular attention that there are some bolted from
the outside with the door mechanism inside, and there are some in the outside. Get it
confused, it will be difficult to put it back on. Remove your door cable, your lock cable
otherwise you will be able to get it out of the door. You need to pop it out of the door
frame, there's one over here too. Pull it out of your door frame. Try not to destroy
those, they'll help you line up when your ready. My clips are gone off this one, just
completely gone. You'll need a 10mm driver. 8mm, will take that off from down there. There's
one of my cables, one of my window retainers. Wiring off the back of the speaker too, to
get this free. And there is my old motor and cabling and such. And sure enough there's
my other cable, my other window retainer. And we go back in just like we came out.
