I'm going to show you guys three basic skills on the parallel bars. The parallel bars is
one of six men's events and it consists of two parallel bars. The most basic skill being
an L-hold. So what you do is you've got to jump on the parallel bars, hold yourself in
a support and lift your legs in front of you into and L-position, an L-shaped position,
so your legs will be parallel with the parallel bars.
The next skill that I'm going to show you guys to do, actually Yuri is going to do it.
He's going to do what's called a forward travel, so he's going to swing forward, put his legs
on the bar, reach forward and arch back and continue on to the third skill, that I'm going
to show you guys how to do, which is called a support swing. So it'll just involve his
legs kicking forward and backwards while holding into a support position. Those are three basic
skills on the parallel bars.
