The most important thing to do before changing a watch battery is to test the battery and
the watch. With this guide from Esslinger.com you'll learn how easy to test a watch battery.
You will need a watch tester.
Place the watch tester on your work bench. Check it and be sure that it is on and in
working order.
Switch the tester into pulse mode, this will read the energy of the watch and tell you
if the watch battery is actually the problem
Take the watch you wish to test and place it with the crystal facing up on the designated
slot.
As soon as the watch case makes contact with the tester you should get a reading if the
battery is still in good condition.
There a couple different things you can expect from your watch tester: If the watch is in
good condition it should beep at regular intervals A two hand movement should beep every twenty
seconds And three hand movement should beep every
second.
If the battery is good but the watch isn't working, the tester will beep at a regular
pace to indicate a pulse in the watch, but the hands won't move.
And finally, if the battery is not working the pulse tester will not detect a pulse,
and nothing will happen. In this case, you should definitely start by changing the watch
battery.
