Hey guys, what's up. I'm Chris and this is our how to tie a tie video series where I'll
Teach you how to tie a necktie
in this video i'll be showing you step by step how to tie the Plattsburgh knot
to begin
place the tie around your neck
with the seams facing outward
next take the wide end under the narrow end
and bring the wide end up and down through the loop created by your neck
pulling it
down
and to the right
next take the wide end
and go up
and down through the loop created by your neck again
this time pulling it down to the left
next you'll want to take the wide and
and go over the front of the tie, while making a bridge with
your two fingers
and then bring the wide end of the tie
around to the back
next, you'll bring the wide end up through the loop created by your neck
and down through the loop that you're holding with your two fingers
and then pull the wide end through
as you pull the wide end through, you'll want to make sure that the tie is not twisting
or bunching up
and if it is
you'll want to make little adjustments
to get the tie in place
after you've got all the twists out, you can pull and cinch it down
you can pull the top of the tie to get a more triangular knot
after that
hold the narrow end of the tie in the back
and then cinch the knot up to your neck
at this point you can
uh... see if it's the look and length that you want
your tie should just hit the top of your belt
after that, you can flip down the collar
and make any final adjustments. You'll want to be sure that the knot is centered
and that it has a nice dimple.
You can create a nice dimple by sticking your pointer finger
in the middle of the tie knot
and then pulling on it a little
