Davi, both you and your mother, addressed school being a big issue. We've done school
at the hospital for you guys so hopefully you're as caught up as possible, but it's
hard to get back into the groove of things. So we invited your school counselor to join
us today through this planning process. Sam, do you have anything to add?
Sure! So as you may or may not know, I have been coordinating between your teachers and
your teacher here at the hospital to keep everyone informed as well. So when you go
back to school, what you're going to do is you're going to check in with me twice a week,
and we're just going to go through your assignments and make sure you're completing all that needs
to be completed, not feeling too overwhelmed, because obviously we don't want you to be
too stressed out when you're trying to get back into the swing of things. You also mentioned
that Mr. Lent, you felt that you were comfortable with him, so he has agreed to kind of be there
if you want to ever talk to someone during the school day or just you know, check in
with him. So that is available to you as well. Also, I talked to your therapist and she mentioned
that your medication can cause sleepiness, dry mouth, head ache or nausea, those are
some of the common side effects that you've been experiencing. I've let your teachers
know as well, so they won't like, take it personally if you're yawning or something
in class. Also they have agreed to be accommodating with your schedule for therapy or things like
that. So you won't get points off if something is late or anything like that. Also I want
you to tell me if you feel like going back to school for a full week is too much, because
we could definitely start slow doing some half days or every other day or just kind
of work with you to make sure that you're not feeling too overwhelmed. Does that sound
like a plan? Yea. Alright.
