Timor-Leste will not be affected by the economic impact of the Tsunami in Japan.
The World Bank's report on the impact on the region of the recent Tsunami in Japan,
said that the economic impact in Asia will not be hard.
The World Bank in Timor-Leste recently held a video conference with the head of the Bank,
through a video conference with journalists in Lecidere, Dili.
This meeting was to provide information about the Asian regional economy, related to the Tsunami that had just occurred in Japan.
Representatives of the World Bank in Dili, were asked questions by journalists about the video conference live from Singapore,
and in the questions and answers session by journalists with the head of the World Bank live via the video conference.
The World Bank's representative in Dili explained to journalists that,
the Tsunami that had occurred in Japan would not have an impact on the Asian region,
and there would be no effect on the economy of Timor-Leste,
because Timor-Leste's exports to the country would not be affectred by natural disasters.
According to the information from the World Bank in Dili, reported to the media,
Vikram Nehru, Economist and head of the World Bank for the East Asia and Pacific Region said that,
the economic impact on the East Asia and Pacific Region would only last a short time.
In a further statement to the press, Japan's economic growth would increase due to the rapid reconstruction following the disaster.
