What's up?
Everything alrighty?
Two mages fight traveling between dimensions in a battle to death [DEAAAATH]
They use the energy of mountains, swamps, islands, plains,
and even whole forests to cast their spells
Fireballs, mental hits, sacred songs, creatures summoned from weird planes and spells of corruption
are part of the [arh]armory of these great mages
All that to define who lives
and who dies
[Pedro used Lick!]
[It was super effective!]
It seems like an epic movie,
but actually that's what happening in a
Magic the Gathering game
Magic the Gathering is a Trading Card Game (TCG) that was realeased in 1993 and it has been around since then
Since it's release it was very well accepted by players from the whole world and it has been there since then as the greatest Card Game
But does Magic work, exactly?
Like, what is going on in a match of Magic?
Let's make this short videos' season to explain the game's basic
Enough for you to play with your lil fellas!
First, imagine you and your oponent are two mages
The game's objective is to eliminate the other mage
To do this you can make him get to 0 or less HP wth your spells and your summoned creatures
You can make him buy his whole deck and then lose the game when going to buy a card and there is none
And he loses the game [GG]
You can simply cast a card that has as definition making the guy lose the game or make
or that you win the game
Or make the other player get 10 or more poison counters
Okay, you already know how to win, like what are conditions to win
but how do you play the game itself? [You win or you die]
First, you and your oponent have a card deck
This cards are basically your spells and your resources to cast these spells
Every spell will have a certain cost and you shall pay this cost with your 'mana'
You get 'mana' with your terrain cards,
that by definition can oly be used in your turn and only once per turn
Each terrain will generate mana of a color,
mana you will use to cast your spells
When you use a terrain to generate mana, you turn it sideways,
to show it was used in that turn
Don't worry, when it's your turn again it will unturn and then you can generate mana with it again
Let's quickly talk about your spells
You have, basically, 2 types of cards:
Permanent and non-permanent
Permanents are all cards that remain on the battlefield
The terrains, for instance
But also are things you will cast to aid you,
like creatures, enchantments and artifacts
This sort of stuff
I turn this island, this island and that swamp sideways to summon
The smelly killer whale of the assassin swamps
[smelly whale, smelly whale]
2/2 trample
this cards stay on the battlefield until something destroys that permanent
then it goes to the graveyard
The non-permanent cards are your instant sorceries and spells
they the one that do not enter the battlefield,
They are casted and then go right to the graveyard, without passing through the battlefield
The most classic spells
Now it's left ot find out how do you put these things on the field and how turns work,
so you can finally destroy your enemies [weren't they my friends?]
So, stay tuned to our magic videos!
Have a nice week, and remember
No cards to buy, no game to play
