Well welcome everybody. My name is Lars. Today in my studio we're going to talk about how
to draw a horse. I have to be totally honest with you. I've never, when the kids ask me
to draw a horse it's always been kind of difficult for me because there's a lot of angles and
shapes to horses. And to get them just right you have to think about the beak that they
have right here. They've got the feathers coming down right there. It's a lot of preparation
to draw a nice horse and I've never understood why girls usually like to draw horses but
maybe because they like to ride them a lot. This one I'm not going to use a marker I'm
just going to try to talk to you more about the shapes of it. And I don't know why I'm
always detail oriented but sometimes simple is just enough. So we've got the back of it
here. We've got the hooves coming down which they have this, they come down like that and
then one of the legs step back and this one was in shadow so it's going in the back here.
Going down. There's a hoof. And here at the muscle, they have a big back muscle here in
the back. My reference has a little horse in the front. Here comes the other leg. The
legs part are very important. Their bone right here shows a lot because their legs are very
strong. Now I can be detailed the face and the only thing is we're going to do is we're
going to realize that the nostrils all up front and the little face is right there.
And the ear and here comes the horses hoof again. They have different textures on them
sometimes. What do you think about that? There is a different example of a horse. You've
got to study their anatomy. You've got to think about the inside of them again. You've
got to realize that they have a lot of muscle tones to them. Keep on drawing. Always have
fun. That's my motto. Thank you guys.
