Once upon a time, "Swastyka" was a solar symbol beloved by everyone. It's meaning was "wellness,
wealth and luck," and it was popular all over the world, especially among happy persons.
Swasty was used in all sorts of objects: jewels, clothes, buildings... and in a lot of cultures.
Today, the swastika is known as the symbol of unutterable suffering and of "Evil" incarnate
on the earth. This has happened because, several years ago,
a man with a strange mustache and a strong German accent decided to use it for the flags
& gadgets of his dark dictatorship while he began to bring terror and death to millions
of people. Today, this is "history," but after all that's
happened, many people have forgotten who Swasty really was. They still fear her, and some
of them would even like to banish her from their countries...
We know that this is wrong. Not only because we love Swasty for what she really means,
but, most of all, because we think that no suffering can be truly healed with fear and
an iron hand, but only with acceptance, joy, and creativity.
So... we decided to launch a challenge: Let's try to heal those dark memories, not
by banishing the symbol that the Nazis have stolen from us, but instead by taking it back,
full to the brim with love. Utopian? Visionary? Surreal? Sure it is! That's
because this is an art project, and not a capital investment.
Thanks to your donations, we will be able to create and promote a great web portal where
everyone will be invited to publish his/her personal creative, reworked version of the
swastika. We want to create the biggest "happy swastikas"
collection in the world, which will eventually end up in a travel exhibit and a paper catalogue.
And, as the cherry on top, we will sell swasty-gadgets and prints of the artworks on the website,
donating 20% of the earnings to a social project. What do you think? Are you ready to join this
challenge? Just visit Swastikamylove.com and get in touch with us!
