Hi! I’m Sheena from Close To My Heart. Handmade gifts
from the heart are the best kind of gifts and today I'm
going to show you some of our new products that make
customized gift giving even easier. You can personalize
them right down to the package that you put the gift into!
I’ll show you a few fantastic new gift-giving products.
These projects are all made from our new gift items in the
Spring/Summer 2013 Idea Book. I love how they can all
be personalized for every occasion and every personality.
Take these treat tube for instance. They’re food safe so I
put candy in these ones. You could also use them for
maybe a hot cocoa package in the winter by filling them
with marshmallows, peppermints, cocoa powder. Or maybe
your Mom’s a gardener. You could fill it with various
types of vegetable seeds. Or maybe your best friend loves
to go to the spa. So you could fill it with bath salts for
a relaxing spa package. When using the Treat Tubes, attach
your decorations to the outside of the tubes with Liquid
Glass, 3-D foam tape, or glue dots for the best results.
Now, look at these great Muslin Gift Bags. You can use it
for lots of different items as well and they are also food
safe. If you fill it with cookies, or any other food item that
could be a little bit oily, be sure to wrap the treat in wax
paper or something similar so that no oils seep through the
fabric. When filling these with treats, make sure to use
light colored treats because the muslin is a bit see through.
This muslin is great because you can stamp on it. It is best
to use pigment inks. And when stamping on it make sure
to slide a piece of cardstock inside so that the ink doesn’t
seep through to the other side. You can even use our
alcohol markers on them; just make sure to use a light
touch. Glue dots and Liquid Glass work as the best
adhesive on these bags. If you end up using Liquid Glass,
be sure to use just a tiny amount because it will seep
through the fabric.
Now look at these great Clear Pillow boxes. They’re also
food safe so feel free to fill it with yummy treats. And just
like the muslin bags be sure to sure to wrap any oily
treats so that the inside doesn’t get oily. You can fill it
with lots of other items as well like a tie, belt, socks, hair
bows, and even embellishments like ribbons. We recommend
Liquid Glass, 3-D foam tape, and Glue Dots as they work the best.
Now, here is a great Kraft container. Again this is also
food safe so you could fill it with treats like 6–10 cookies
or any candies like that. You can even take the lid off and
use it as a pencil cup for a teacher or for mom or dad at the
office. Liquid Glass, Glue Dots, 3-D foam tape, as well as
hot glue from a glue gun are the best adhesive. You can even
stamp on it with ink, just but be sure to stamp and roll the
image for the best coverage like we did here.
Now we also have some paper pouches. We carry them in
several sizes. This small one was used as a tag but you can
also add it to a gift or add to a layout. These bigger ones
we used to make a great interactive album. Isn’t it adorable?
You could also use these to hold paper doll kits in, you can
make an advent calendar, so you use like one bag per day
of various sizes. You can make an envelope out of it. Best
ink to use on them is stamping with pigment ink. 3-D foam
tape, Tombow, and Glue Dots are the best for adhesives.
As you can see, there are several ways to use our new gift
items in your future projects! The next time you want to
give a handmade gift, simply fill out a paper pouch, a
muslin bag, or a treat tube. It’s a thoughtful gift that is
super simple to put together. If you’d like to make adorable
