On behalf of expertvillage.com, my name is Paul Lewis and my name is Rodney Smith and
we are here to talk to you about how to become an extra for TV, movies and commercials. When
you work as an extra, we spoke about working long hours but we also need to realize that
we kind touched this briefly but I want to elaborate a little more on it. Getting up
really early and be punctual because your call time in all likelihood is going to be
very early in the morning. Most productions are shot very early in the morning for budget
reasons, assignment reasons and for other people not being on the street maybe if it
is a public scene they are shooting, they try to shoot during periods where the only
other people in the scene will be the hired extras. So be prepared to get up extremely
early in the morning most of the time. Very true, speaking about the war scene, the film
that I did, that call was at 5:00 a.m. and we had to be there, there were buses that
were taking us to another location and I remember it was out in Jersey so you have to be at
the bus at 5:00 a.m. so you are talking about getting up at 3:00 or something like that.
So you know things like that do happen but prepared for that because that is kind of
the norm sometimes on the set.
