Hugging and chatting with lover while naked ruled NOT adultery
A resident of this community in Xinbei City,
40-year-old man surnamed Huang
got home from work one day last May,
and found that his bed sheets were messy,
and his 29-year-old Vietnamese wife looked nervous.
He placed pinhole cameras above the living room TV,
and recorded footage of his wife bringing a Vietnamese man home.
When they were hugging,
his wife fondled the man's crotch area.
They even took off their clothes to hold each other,
going in and out of the bedroom and bathroom.
At times the wife's love stayed overnight in Huang's home.
Huang was infuriated when he saw the footage,
and sued the love birds for adultery.
In response to the allegations his wife said
they were just chatting while naked.
She touched his crotch to see if the underwear she bought him
was too tight.
She added the man cannot get an ***,
and so they didn't engage in intercourse.
The Shilin prosecutor's office ruled that
since there was no footage of Huang's wife engaging in intercourse with the man,
and that no bodily fluids was found,
there was no direct proof against her.
They therefore decided not to prosecute her.
Huang has since separated from his wife.
In reaction to the ruling,
members of the public found it hard to accept.
(Man): It's outrageous. The prosecutor's
method of deciding whether adultery took place
was very unreasonable.
It's unbelievable they got away with this level of intimate involvement with each other.
I don't think justice was served.
(Woman): According to this ruling,
a married man or woman can just be with another person
very openly.
(Woman): Perhaps the prosecutor had his
own logic behind the verdict,
but most people would find
the woman's behavior unacceptable.
