Some things that really stick out in my mind in terms of resources
that this university offers, first and foremost, is student employment.
I'm actually paying my way through college
and I'm living on my own outside of campus
and I'm making sure that I'm doing this on my own
because - it's important that I do that -
because I feel a sense of - I don't want to say dignity - but responsibility
for the grades that I get,
for my ability to provide for myself.
And having three jobs on campus myself
I can tell you that there are opportunities for students
if they want to make some income, make some money for themselves
and improve their ability to support themselves here
because, obviously, having three jobs is an indication that there's,
even in tough times like this,
that the university is willing to reach out to the students
and for those who are interested, who will help them.
That's the great thing about Western and Macomb
is that opportunities do exist, whether you have to make them on your own
or go with the ones that are available in front of you.
