Markzware's FlightCheck version 6.90.
Today, we're going to show you how to quickly and easily reset your preferences.
This is something you might want to do if you've use an earlier version and
you're starting to get strange problems, or if you're just having some general
weirdness going on. You know, the interface might get a little bit gobbled here or there.
It really doesn't happen that often, but when it does happen, or when something
just doesn't appear right, the first thing you should try is this little tip here.
So, first what you should do is Quit FlightCheck.
Alright, so, how am I doing this? Now, I'm holding down the Shift key
and I'm going to restart FlightCheck with simply double-clicking it, on a Macintosh.
You'll see we get this question.
Do you want to delete the preferences?
I can now let the shift key off, I can click OK,
and it will do it.
It will take a bit longer this first time, because we'll have to reload
the font database, or actually rebuild the font database.
And that's it, and then your FlightCheck should once again...
You take any file here. Let's take this PDF.
We drop it on FlightCheck,
and your FlightCheck should work, once again,
just like normal,
preflighting more than fifty file formats, InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop,
QuarkXPress,
EPS and, of course, even the resulting PDF file.
It'll automatically switch to Ground Controls (FlightCheck eagle screeches)
to be PDF specific.
And there, we see we get a nice overview
of all the potential problems.
That's the quick tip today, how to reset your preferences
in FlightCheck version 6.90 to help some of the most common problems.
Thank you. David Dilling from Markzware,
wishing you a fantastic day!
