Tonight on Dead Explorer, I am visiting the site of a lost treasure here in Austin, Texas.
Down in Shoal Creek so many people have seen the spirits of these treasure seekers that
they even put this sign here in the middle of the park where the city acknowledges people
have seen ghosts, lanterns, people looking for this treasure. It was lost in the 1800s,
Lost Mexican treasure, and I'm here with Roger from Shadowlight Paranormal to see if we can
catch some real paranormal activity on video and maybe find some treasure for ourselves.
I'm Alejandro. I search the world for paranormal activity. I am the Dead Explorer. So I've
actually been on another part of this trail last year because not only is this the site
of the lost Mexican treasure, it's also the site of an Indian Massacre. Lots of battles
took place here and there's another historical marker a mile or two on the other side of
the park where the settlers were slaughtered by Indians and being here last year we caught
a lot of EVPs. An intelligent EVP, we threw a rock. Jay Villarreal a freelance investigator
from San Antonio, I invited him up and he came. And he threw a rock and we caught an
EVP that said, I think like throw back or something when we asked them if they would
throw the rock back and them some EVPs that they just were hard to understand but they
really sounded like voices. We assumed maybe they were Native American EVPs without really
intelligently being able to say we know that one way or another, but with Mexican treasure
we could always ask something in Spanish and hopefully get Spanish responses. Yup. I just
saw, I just saw. What you see? A light. Something glow over there and my camera was right on
it. It was red. Did you see it now on the screen or with your own eyes? I saw it with
my own eyes. You see that reflector right there? That's not it, is it? No. Well let's
go that way because we heard shuffling and you think you saw a light? Right there. Where?
Right there that spot? A-huh. There was a red, red light. How, how big was it? It looked,
like it could have been an animal's eye, but it was red. A dot. A dot? And was it close
to the ground? It was right there, almost you see where that little rock was sticking
out right there? Okay. It was almost at that level. Hmm. Is that where you saw the light?
Yea, right around here. So you put the MEL meter down there? Yea. What's it reading right
now? Point, point zero milligauss. Get a little closer so I can see you and the meter. Whoa,
did you here that? Yea, I did. What was that? It sounded like again, some kind of rocks.
Yea. Which way? Behind you or behind me? I think it was back that way. Behind me? Yea.
Okay. I got my IR Light off so. The great thing is you have that thing flashing behind
you. Yea. Can you go up to this box right here with the red light and touch it? If you
touch it, we'll be able to tell. You get very close you can make the lights light up. Can
you give us a sign you're here by touching that and making it light up one time? Whose
spirit are you? What is your name? Why are you still here? What would you like for us
to do now? Can we stay here a little while longer or would you like us to go? If you
can't say it, give us a sign. If you want us to stay, touch me. If you want us to go,
touch Roger who is downhill from me. Or touch this device, just to let us know you understand.
You know the more I investigate and the more I do EVP sessions over the years, I just wanted
to know if ghosts and spirits existed. But you know, I think I'm beginning to get to
the point where I'm really wondering, not if they exist, but why? Why do they exist?
And I'm hoping that by trying to find out I'll find out more about ghosts than ever
before. Obviously, nobody's ever captured the golden grail of evidence that would make
everybody acknowledge and believe that they're real. In fact, there's a lot of times, including
when I first started, that I've been very skeptical about some of the things I've seen.
But I've gotten to the point where I want to know if ghosts exist, why do they exist?
Why they here? Why would a ghost still look for treasure over a hundred years after they've
passed away? Why did this spirit feel like they could not move on unless they keep doing
that over and over again? That's what I would like to know. You coming buddy? Yea. Exploring
a public spot looking for an urban legend is a good way to practice your ghosthunting
skills. Although we did not capture any spirits or activity, our search will go on. Hey everybody,
this is Alejandro, the Dead Explorer. I hope you enjoyed this week's paranormal investigation.
